Lancang River in Xishuangbanna section impose fishing ban

Since February 1, the Lancang River waters in the Xishuangbanna Dai
Autonomous Prefecture has imposed fishing banm until April 30. To this
end, the Prefecture's fisheries authority issued the "fishing ban
notice," and the started the decoration for the meeting on fisheries
production safety and fishing ban.
Fishing ban areas is within the Lancang River waters, including the
section between Jinghong Hydropower Station and the Liusha River's
estuary which was designated as the whole-year fishing ban area.
During fishing ban period, all fishing activities are prohibited in
the Lancang River; hotels and restaurants are prohibited from
acquisition, processing and sale of wild fish. For those who violated
the rules, the department in charge of fisheries will, in accordance
with the "People's Republic of China Fishery Law," "Xishuangbanna Dai
Autonomous Prefecture's Wild Animals Protection Ordinance," and other
relevant laws and regulations, impose punishment. (End) |
