The Memorandum of Understanding in BOT Item of Lao’s Paklay Hydroelectric Power Project Signed

On June 11th 2007, Assistant of the general manager of the Group
Corporation and the general manager of the International Company Zeng
Xingliang on behalf of the International Project Limited Company of
Sinohydro Corporation and China National Electronic Import-export
Company composed the joint company and signed with the Lao’s
government the memorandum of understanding in Lao’s Paklay
Hydroelectric Power Project BOT investment project. This is another
investment exploitation right the International Company obtained after
Lao’s Nam Ngum 5 and Nam On 8 hydroelectric power station BOT
projects. It marks a new step in the investment of Lao’s
hydroelectricity field.

Paklay Hydroelectric Power Station locates in main current of Laos
in the Mekong River, 210 kilometers away from the capital Vientiane.
This project primarily generates electricity, and the large-scale
water and electricity key project with integrated benefit such as
shipping. It is a hydroelectric power plant in river channel, with the
total installed capacity of 1,320,000 kilowatts. It installs 10 axes-
flow adjustable blade propeller water-turbine generator sets, with
electricity generation quotation current capacity 4500 cubic per
second., equipment annual utilizing 4894 hours. Multi-annual power
production can reach 6,460,000,000 kwh. It isthousand-ton two level of
sluices, the total investment is US$1,700,000,000. It is one of the
large-scale hydroelectric station project with investment development
potential.
